Engineering Team Lead Role – L4

Both the engineering team lead role and senior software engineer role are very similar. In the engineering team lead role, there is more emphasis on people management.

Responsibilities

• Lead a small agile team made up of two or more developers

• Communicate with both technical and business stakeholders including project managers and product owners

• Break down high level or business requirements into detailed technical tasks for you and your team to implement.

• Spearhead the research and adoption of new technologies for meeting technical requirements

• Build high standard end to end systems using industry wide best practices.

• Provide on-call support for the software systems your team own.

• Provide technical mentorship to more junior members on the team

• Provide career guidance to junior engineers, will involve regular

Experience

In addition to having the similar level of experience as a senior software engineer:

• You have experience managing a small team of developers

• You have experience managing relations with technical and business stakeholders
