INVITATION OF CANDIDATES FOR SCREENING FOR UNITED STATES NAVAL ACADEMY

1. The Ghana Navy presents its compliments and wishes to inform you once again of a training slot offered by the US Government to the Ghana Navy for training in the United States Naval Academy (USNA) beginning 1 July 2025. The entry qualification into the USNA is high school certificate, the equivalent of which is WASSCE Certificate. The Ghana Navy intends to seek out senior high school graduates with a science background and good academic grounding to be screened for the USNA 2025 admissions.

2. Pursuant to the USNA offer requirements and the general eligibility criteria for the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) officer enlistment, the following are some pieces of information or guidelines that should inform the selection of potential applicants for t he USNA:
a. Applicants should be within the age limits of at least 17 years and not more than 23 years by 1July 2025.
b. The applicant should possess the WASSCE Certificate.
C. The applicant should be ready to sit for the December 2024 SAT or ACT college entrance examinations.

3. The eligible applicants would undergo the GAF officer candidates screening to select the 6 best-qualified candidates. These finalists will then initiate the USNA admission processes to select only one applicant to train with the USNA 2024 admissions. The training at the USNA is for four years after which the trainee would graduate with a first degree. The successful trainee would receive the presidential officer commission on completion of his or her training and return home to the Ghana Navy.

 4. The selected applicants from previous years are still undergoing training at the USNA and performing remarkably well . It i s h o p e d t h a t t h e c o n t i n u o u s g o o d performance of our nominees will leave a good impression about Ghana and also produce good-quality officers for the Ghana Navy. It is in this regard that the assistance of your esteemed institution is very much required once again in soliciting some of the best-qualified candidates to compete for the offer.

5. Eligible candidates are to apply for consideration and applications should include copies of the WASSCE, BECE, and Birth Certificates. In view of the limited time, applications are to reach this Headquarters not later than Monday 28 October 2024. This is to enable all screening processes for both the GAF and USNA to be completed and the selected candidates submitted to the USNA in good time.
