Job Purpose:
The Rotational Nurse will be responsible for providing high-quality nursing care across various clinical departments in the hospital. This flexible role requires a broad clinical foundation and a commitment to delivering compassionate, evidence-based care in a multidisciplinary environment.The nurse will rotate across medical, surgical, critical care, outpatient, and other units based on operational needs, supporting patient care delivery, collaborating with healthcare teams, and ensuring adherence to clinical standards and protocols.

Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities:

Clinical Practice:

·        Deliver direct patient care, including medication administration, wound management, and patient monitoring.

·        Assist in pre-admission, admission, and discharge processes across various departments.

·        Respond promptly to changes in patient condition and intervene appropriately.

·        Support emergency response protocols including CPR and stabilization measures.

Patient Education and Support:

·        Educate patients and families on health conditions, treatments, and discharge instructions.

·        Provide emotional support to patients and their caregivers during hospitalization.

·        Empower patients to participate in decisions related to their care.

Collaboration and Communication:

·        Collaborate with physicians, allied health professionals, and other nurses to provide holistic care.

·        Participate in ward rounds and multidisciplinary case discussions.

·        Contribute to policy development and clinical pathway updates.

Documentation and Compliance:

·        Maintain accurate and timely nursing records using electronic health systems.

·        Ensure compliance with hospital policies, clinical protocols, and professional standards.

·        Support quality assurance, incident reporting, and risk management initiatives.  

Infection Control and Safety:

·        Adhere to infection prevention and control protocols, including PPE usage.

·        Ensure safe handling and administration of all medications and clinical products.

·        Participate in regular safety training and quality improvement initiatives.

Training and Professional Development:

·        Engage in ongoing clinical education to remain current with nursing best practices.

·        Participate in hospital-wide training programs and competency assessments.

·        Provide mentorship to student nurses and junior staff as required.

Qualifications:
·        Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from a recognized institution or Diploma in Nursing with post-basic training.

·        Valid nursing license and registration with regulatory authority.

·        Membership in a professional nursing association (preferred).

Experience:
·        Minimum of 3 years of recent clinical nursing experience in a hospital setting.

·        Experience in more than one specialty area is an advantage.

·        Clinical skills including IV therapy, wound care, vital signs monitoring, and patient triage.

·        Strong understanding of clinical protocols across general medicine and surgery.

·        Knowledge of emergency care, infection control, and patient safety standards.

·        Familiarity with hospital information systems and electronic health records.
