Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Data Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical foundation in AWS services, with a focus on data processing, storage, and analytics solutions. This individual will play a crucial role in the design update, implementation, and maintenance of our scalable data pipelines and architectures, ensuring the availability and reliability of data for analytics and business intelligence purposes.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: (what it must achieve) 

  • Design and update dynamic, interactive data visualizations and dashboards using AWS QuickSight, tailored to the needs of business users and stakeholders.
  • Implement secure user authentication and access management with AWS Cognito, ensuring data privacy and compliance with organizational policies.
  • Utilize AWS Amplify for the deployment and hosting of front-end applications, optimizing performance and scalability.
  • Collaborate with data engineers to integrate AWS-based data pipelines and analytics solutions into front-end applications.
  • Ensure high usability and user experience (UX) standards in all developed applications, with a focus on responsiveness and intuitive design.
  • Conduct user research and testing to gather feedback and continuously improve the effectiveness of visualization tools and interfaces.
  • Stay up to date with the latest trends and technologies in front-end development and AWS services, advocating for the adoption of best practices and innovative solutions. 
QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Design, Information Technology, Pharmacy or a Life-sciences related field.
  • Proven experience in front-end development, with a strong portfolio showcasing data visualization projects.
  • In-depth knowledge of AWS services, particularly QuickSight, Cognito, and Amplify, with relevant certifications being a plus.
  • Experience in web development technologies, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and modern frameworks such as React or Angular.
  • Familiarity with data analysis and visualization principles, able to translate complex data into clear and engaging visual stories.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for design and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities, comfortable working in a cross-functional team environment.
