Job Purpose
The Sector Manager is responsible for driving growth, profitability, and risk quality of the Bank’s Commercial portfolio within an assigned economic sector(s). The role focuses on sector specialization, business development, product management, relationship management, credit portfolio management, credit quality, and value-chain development, ensuring that Commercial clients receive tailored financial and advisory solutions aligned with sector dynamics.
. Sector Strategy & Portfolio Development
Develop and execute a sector-specific Commercial strategy aligned with the Bank’s commercial objectives and risk appetite.
Build deep understanding of the assigned sector, including:
· Value chains
· Seasonality
· Cost structures
· Cash-flow cycles
· Regulatory and policy environment in Ghana
Lead client
acquisition through:
· Sector clinics
· Business forums
· Trade fairs
· Value-chain partnerships
Key Performance Indicators
Sector portfolio growth (Loans & Deposits)
Net interest income & fee income from sector
Portfolio quality (NPL ratio, arrears trends)
Client acquisition & retention
Turnaround time for credit approvals
Cross-sell ratio per client
Sector knowledge transfer & RM capability improvement
Qualifications & Experience
Education & Professional Qualifications
Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or related field
Professional qualification (CA, ACCA, CIB, CFA) is an advantage
Minimum 7–10years’ experience in SME or Commercial Banking
Proven experience in credit analysis, relationship management, and business development
Prior exposure to sector-based lending or specialised portfolios is a strong advantage
