Africa Sourcing Specialist - Chemicals & Ingredients

A leading agri-business in the world with presence in Africa and Asia with footprint which spans 500 manufacturing plants worldwide and an extensive distribution network covering over 50 countries is looking to recruit a Africa Sourcing Specialist - Chemicals & Ingredients to join the team.

ROLE
Formulate, develop, execute policies and procedures to drive a consistent approach towards sourcing, purchasing and tendering activity within the business. As Africa sourcing specialist, you will work in close partnership with Country Operations and Technical teams in formulation of best practices to help consolidate, reduce cost, mitigate risk and improve efficiency of procurement.

RESPONSIBILITIES
* Sourcing of Chemicals & Ingredients related spend.
* The spend spread across various Wilmar's operations in different countries in Africa. Total in scope spending of ~$100 million per annum.
* Key decision maker on large value purchases. Will consolidate group orders for better negotiation and pricing.
* Oversee all RFI's, RFQ's and RFPs within the company and ensure all details required are within the guideline of the company's compliance framework.
* Review and suggest cost savings and optimization initiatives.
* Provide recommendation on streamlining and improvement of procurement process.
* Manage the supplier's performance by reviewing their performance on a quarterly basis.
* Working closely with Ops division to identify new suppliers to work with and to gather feedback of supplier's performance.
* Develop supply chain effectiveness metrics and report regularly on supply chain performance, utilizing the metrics.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
* Possess a minimum of 10-12 years of business experience including 5-8 years in a similar role within a manufacturing company.
* Bachelor's degree in engineering or Operations.
* Experienced in spearheading projects or supplier transition with large matrix collaboration across the organization.
*Experienced in the implementation of end-to-end procurement strategy and processes
* Process traits like being meticulous, analytical, seamless collaborator , convincing negotiator, high emotional quotient in managing various stakeholder's expectation.
* Strong in communication and stakeholder management
* Experience in a Food FMCG or similar industry.
* A sense of urgency, high energy, and self-motivated
* SAP and Ariba experience
* Experience working across multiple geographies.
