Assistant Farm Managers

Job Overview:

Riverton Farm is seeking qualified, experienced, and highly motivated individuals to join our team as

Key Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will:
* Oversee aspects of animal husbandry , ensuring health, feeding, welfare breeding, and general livestock care.
* Manage crop production: planning, planting, cultivation, irrigation, fertilisation, harvesting.
* Apply knowledge of soil science to maintain soil fertility structure, drainage, and perform soil testing                                                                                                                    * Supervise horticulture operations, including greenhouse management, fruit/vegetable propagation, pest and disease control.
* Implement integrated pest, disease, and weed management programs across crop, horticultural and pasture areas.
* Lead and supervise farm hands, delegating tasks, training staff, monitoring performance.
* Monitor inputs, outputs, yields, maintain accurate records, assist in budgeting and cost control.

Candidates should have:
* A tertiary qualification in Agriculture, Animal Science, Crop Science, Horticulture, or related field (Diploma in Agriculture).
* Strong understanding of soil science, pest and disease cycles, crop rotation, fertiliser management.
* Leadership skills: ability to manage, train, motivate farm workers.
* Practical problem-solving skills, resilient, able to work in all weather; high levels of physical activity as needed.
