BUSINESS OPERATIONS MANAGER

Purpose of the Role
The Business Operations Manager serves as the key link between business operations and IT, ensuring that
technology effectively enables, supports, and optimizes business processes across the organization. The
role is focused on aligning operational needs with IT capabilities by leveraging systems, data, and
automation to drive efficiency, performance, and measurable value. It operates within a governance-driven
environment, ensuring that all systems, applications, and services meet security, compliance, and
operational standards. Through strong stakeholder engagement, demand prioritization, and continuous
improvement initiatives, the role ensures that technology investments translate into tangible business
outcomes while supporting long-term strategic objectives.

Key Accountabilities
Business Alignment & Strategy

• Lead the alignment of business requirements with IT solutions by working closely with
  stakeholders to define, validate, and implement scalable systems
• Act as the primary interface between business units and IT, ensuring clear communication and
  delivery of business-focused solutions
• Drive business process optimization through technology, identifying opportunities for automation
  and efficiency
• Contribute to IT strategy and enterprise architecture aligned with business and digital
  transformation goals
• Track and ensure realization of benefits from IT investments and initiatives
  Service Delivery & Operations Management
• Oversee end-user support frameworks, ensuring efficient incident and service request
  management in line with ITIL standards
• Own the lifecycle of business applications, including implementation, optimization,
  performance monitoring, and retirement
• Ensure application availability, reliability, and performance through defined KPIs and SLAs
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance system performance and business value
• Ensure compliance with change, release, and configuration management processes
• Drive data governance practices, ensuring integrity, ownership, and consistency
• Oversee disaster recovery and business continuity planning

Governance, Projects and Leadership

• Ensure compliance with information security standards (ISO 27001/NIST) and internal IT policies
• Manage vendor and service provider relationships, ensuring performance and cost-effectiveness
• Act as business lead or product owner on IT projects, ensuring solutions meet requirements and
  are operationally ready
• Lead and develop the business systems and applications team, building capability and high
  performance
• Own reporting on system performance, risks, and improvement opportunities to leadership

Key Requirements – Qualifications, Experience, Skills etc.:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, or related
  discipline.
• Minimum of ten (10) years’ experience in IT operations, business systems management, or a
  similar role.
• Strong knowledge of ERP systems, database technologies, and IT service management
  frameworks (ITIL).
• Proven experience in managing IT projects, vendors, and business-critical systems.
• Solid understanding of information security practices and governance frameworks (ISO
  27001/NIST).
• Demonstrated ability to translate business needs into effective technology solutions.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on continuous improvement.
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and influencing skills.
• Proven leadership capability with experience in building and developing high-performing teams.
• Strong business acumen with the ability to align IT initiatives to organizational objectives.
