Job Description

Job Summary:
We are seeking a results-driven Commercial Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will oversee all commercial aspects of project contracting, ensuring profitability and client satisfaction.

Job Responsibility:

Oversee Quantity Surveyors in:

• Taking off quantities
• Procurement comparisons
• Variation claims
• Getting quotations
• Preparing claims for additional works

Liaise with Project Director/Manager on commercial & contractual issues ensure:

• Variation works are logged and claimed timely
• Claims comply with contracts/subcontracts

Liaise with project team in:

• Managing financial aspects
• Securing and managing subcontracts

Ensure subcontracts align with technical and commercial requirements.

Conduct regular meetings with project/planning teams.

Notify employer of delays/costs in advance.

Ensure timely payments and final account closure.

Monitor/control costs and advise on solutions.

Maintain and update commercial logs and reports. 

Skills

 1. In-depth knowledge of MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) systems.
2. Strong understanding of commercial and contract management within the construction industry.
3. Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
4. Ability to analyze market trends and develop pricing strategies.
5. Project management skills to oversee large-scale MEP projects.
6. Proficiency in financial management and budgeting.
7. Problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
8. Leadership qualities to manage a team effectively.
9. Familiarity with relevant regulations and compliance standards in the construction sector.
10. Strong interpersonal skills to build and maintain relationships with clients and suppliers.

Education

Bachelor's degree in quantity surveying.
