Job Description
Sonne Harvest (Pty) Ltd, a horticultural farming business, is inviting applications from experienced and hardworking individuals for two Farm Worker positions at its farm in Lot 9896, Marokolwane, Botswana.
The successful candidates will be responsible for carrying out general horticultural farming activities, including land preparation, planting, irrigation, weeding, crop maintenance, harvesting, sorting, and packing of produce. Applicants should have practical experience in commercial horticultural farming and the ability to perform physically demanding agricultural tasks.
Experience in irrigation systems, greenhouse operations, and shade-net farming will be an added advantage.

Key Responsibilities
• Prepare land for planting, including clearing, tilling, and preparing planting beds.
• Plant seeds, seedlings, and crops according to established farming practices.
• Operate and maintain irrigation systems to ensure adequate water supply.
• Carry out weeding, pruning, and general crop maintenance.
• Monitor crop growth and report any signs of pests, diseases, or other problems.
• Harvest crops carefully to maintain product quality.
• Sort, grade, and pack harvested produce according to required standards.
• Maintain cleanliness and orderliness across the farm.
• Assist with the maintenance of farming tools, equipment, and facilities.
• Follow farm safety procedures and agricultural best practices.
• Perform other general farm duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements and Qualifications
• Minimum of 3 years of practical experience in commercial horticultural farming.
• Knowledge of general farming operations, including planting, irrigation, harvesting, and crop maintenance.
• Experience in greenhouse and shade-net farming will be an advantage.
• Knowledge of irrigation systems and crop management practices is desirable.
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks.
• Good attention to detail and commitment to maintaining crop quality.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good time-management skills and a strong work ethic.
