JOB SUMMARY
The Head of Security/Aviation Security Manager is responsible for leading and overseeing all aviation and corporate security operations to ensure full compliance with NCAA regulations and industry best practices. The position manages security policies, personnel, risk assessments and incident response while coordinating with relevant regulatory, law enforcement, and intelligence agencies. The role also advises executive management on security risks and ensures continuous improvement of the Airport and Company Security Programmes.



Duties & Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and enforce security policies, protocols, and procedures in line with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
- Supervise and coordinate all aviation and corporate security activities, including passenger and baggage screening, access control, perimeter security, and surveillance systems.
- Oversee vetting, training, and certification of all security personnel to ensure regulatory compliance and operational competence.
- Liaise with NCAA, FAAN, Police, Civil Defence, DSS, and other relevant security and intelligence agencies.
- Conduct regular security risk assessments, vulnerability studies, and threat analyses across company operations and facilities.
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of outsourced and contracted security service providers.
- Coordinate and manage security incident response, investigations, reporting, and corrective actions.
- Ensure full compliance with NCAA-approved security programmes and support regulatory inspections, audits, and drills.
- Maintain and continuously update the Airport Security Programme (ASP) and Company Security Programme (CSP) in collaboration with the Accountable Manager.
- Advise the Managing Director and executive management on security risks, emerging threats, and policy recommendations.
- Prepare and submit timely reports on security operations, incidents, and compliance status.



Educational Qualification & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in criminology, security studies, law enforcement or a related discipline.
- NCAA certification in Aviation Security (AVSEC).
- Minimum of 5 years experience in aviation or corporate security.
- At least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
- Prior experience with airport or airline security operations.



Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong knowledge of Nigerian Civil Aviation Regulations (Nig. CARS) and ICAO Annex 17.
- Proven leadership, decision-making, and crisis management capabilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- High integrity, confidentiality, and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in surveillance, access control, and incident reporting systems.
- Ability to work collaboratively across departments and with regulatory agencies.
