HEAD, TECHNICAL OPERATIONS (UNDERWRITING)

JOB SUMMARY:

A reputable insurance brokerage firm in Accra is seeking to hire a Head of Technical Operations (Underwriting) to lead the technical underwriting function, ensure compliance, and drive operational efficiency across the company.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Develop, implement, and refine operational strategies, policies, and procedures to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability across all technical functions (e.g, policy administration, renewals,).
* Serve as the primary liaison with insurance carriers on underwriting requirements, policy terms, and market capabilities.
* Oversee the claims management process to ensure timely, fair, and efficient resolution of claims.
* Generate insightful operational reports and analytics to monitor performance and support data-driven decisions.
* Ensure technical operations comply with local regulatory requirements (e.g., NIC regulations in Ghana) and internal governance policies.
* Identify, evaluate, and implement insurance technology solutions (e.g., CRM systems, brokerage management software) to improve service delivery and internal processes.
* Lead, mentor, and develop the technical operations team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.

QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCIES:
* Bachelor's degree in Insurance, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
* Professional certifications such as ACII, ClI, ARe, or CPCU are an advantage.
* 6-8 years of progressive experience in insurance operations, technical underwriting, or claims management, including 1-3 years in a leadership role.
* In-depth knowledge of insurance products, underwriting terms, and market practices (e.g., general insurance, life, health, specialty lines).
* Strong understanding of Ghana's insurance regulatory framework.
* Proficiency in CRM systems and brokerage management software.
* Excellent communication, leadership, and data analysis skills.
