MINING ENGINEER

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Develop and implement mine plans, schedules, and production targets for open-pit and/or underground operations.
* Ensure strict adherence to all relevant mining regulations, safety codes, and environmental policies.
* Design and optimize pit layouts, dump placements and haul road networks
* Conduct geological and geotechnical assessments to guide mining activities and ensure pit wall stability
* Oversee drilling, blasting, loading and hauling operations to maximize output and minimize costs
* Utilize mining software (e.g. Surpac, AutoCAD) for mine design. surveying, and volumetric calculations.
* Prepare detailed reports on production, safety performance, and resource utilization.
* Collaborate with processing maintenance and safety departments to achieve
* Integrated operational goals.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
* (BSc) degree in Mining Engineering or a closely related field.
* Valid membership with the Engineering Council of Zimbabwe.
* 3 years of practical experience in a mining environment. with experience in chrome, platinum, or similar hard rock mining.
* Proficiency in mine planning software such as Surpac, Datamine, or similar.
* In-depth knowledge of mine design, geometrics, drill & blast engineering, and ventilation
* Must be physically fit and able to work in a demanding mining environment.
