Who We Are Looking For:
We are seeking an experienced Enterprise Risk Manager to lead the identification, assessment, and management of risks across the company. The role will ensure clear ownership and accountability of risks, and work with risk owners to design and implement effective mitigation and monitoring plans.
In addition to safeguarding compliance, the Enterprise Risk Manager will play a key role in supporting business resilience and enabling sustainable growth by embedding sound risk management practices into decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
* Spearhead the development, implementation, and maintenance of the company's enterprise risk management (ERM) framework.
* Identify, assess, and monitor operational, people, financial, market, insurance, and compliance risks across business units.
* Develop and oversee risk management policies, procedures, risk limits, and approval authorities to ensure consistency and regulatory compliance (NIC and other regulators).
* Design and implement tools and systems to evaluate, measure, manage, and report risks including product, pricing, underwriting, credit, market (investment & liquidity), operational (legal, regulatory, contagion, related party), and strategic risks.
* Collaborate with business leads and risk owners to embed risk awareness, standardize processes, and strengthen controls across departments.
* Monitor emerging risks and institute measures to address deficiencies identified in the company's risk strategies or controls.
* Preserve company assets (human and physical) by minimizing losses through effective risk avoidance, control, transfer, and retention strategies.
* Lead risk control self-assessments, scenario analysis, stress testing, and report to senior management and the Board Risk Committee.
* Manage the organization's Business
* Foster continuous interaction and communication between the risk function and other business units to build a strong risk-aware culture.
What Will Make You Succeed:
Technical Expertise: Excellent business acumen, Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret risk data and trends, proficiency in risk management tools, knowledge of the regulatory and business environment.
Leadership Skills: Agility in decision making, integrity and accountability, Experience in presenting risk reports to senior executives and boards, relationship building and emotional intelligence.
Personal Attributes: Excellent organizational skills, Strong people/interpersonal skills, adaptability to change and diversity, agility in cognitive reasoning.
Academic & Professional Qualification:
* Bachelor's degree in business administration, Finance, Insurance, Actuarial Science, or related field.
* Master's in risk management (Preferred)
* Professional certification is an added advantage.
* Minimum of 5-7 years' experience preferably in general insurance or financial services.
* Proven Experience in insurance Risk Management
* Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements and enterprise risk management frameworks.
* Proven ability to develop and implement risk management policies and strategies.
