Role Focus:
To manage and optimize enterprise data systems while delivering actionable insights that enhances operational efficiency and real-time decision making in mining operations. This role integrates robust database administration with advanced analytics and business analysis to support strategic decision-making across all business functions including mining, processing and support business units. The role will essentially be responsible for the lifecycle of all data generated from all business systems.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
Database Administration:
* Oversee the administration of databases, including design, implementation, maintenance, performance, security and optimization.
* Monitor and optimize Database performance.
* Own the entire life-cycle of data including acquisition, storage, retrieval, manipulation and disposal for all applications.
* Perform the installation and configuration of database software.
* Respond to database related incidents and service requests.
Application Support:
* Provide technical support for all business-critical applications.
* Contribute to application development.
* Collaborate with software vendors and internal teams to troubleshoot and resolve application issues.
* Manage application upgrades, patches, and integrations with other systems.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
Data Backup and Recovery:
* Ensure data backup and recovery processes are in place, including data archiving and data retention.
* Work closely with site technology team members collaborating and leading efforts to solve technical problems in the field.
* Provide a disciplined approach to change management ensuring testing procedures have been carried out prior to production rollout of change.
* Review existing systems and identify areas for improvement in the areas of scalability, maintainability, and performance.
Data Governance:
* Ensure data governance and quality, including data validation, data cleansing, and data normalization.
* Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements, industry standards, and company policies.
* Communicate with stakeholders, including business leaders, end-users, and IT teams, to ensure data needs are met.
* Provide a disciplined approach to change management ensuring testing procedures have been carried out prior to production rollout of change.
* Review existing systems and identify areas for improvement in the areas of scalability, maintainability, and performance.

* Lead the development of data models, dashboards, and reports for all business units using tools like Power BI, Tableau, Excel etc.
* Work with stakeholders to understand data needs and translate them into actionable insights.
* Perform statistical and predictive analysis to uncover trends, patterns, and insights.
* Use tools like Python, R, or SQL for deep data exploration and modeling
* Translate data findings into actionable business strategies.
* Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business goals and deliver
Business Analysis:
* Requirements gathering and documentation.
* Analyze current business processes and identify inefficiencies.
* Recommend improvements using data-driven insights.
* Act as a bridge between business units and technical teams.
* Facilitate meetings, workshops and presentations to align goals.
* Assist in managing the impact of new systems or processes.
* Support training of users and ensure adoption of new systems.
* Monitor implemented solutions to ensure they deliver value.

* Comply with Zijin Golden Ridge Limited's security and technology standards in delivery of service,

Working Environment:
This position is based at the Akyem mine site.
Training and Experience: Formal Qualification including Professional Registrations):
* Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or other related field.
Training and Experience
Additional Knowledge:
* An overall understanding of the objectives and functions of the Company, business units and departments serviced by IT.
* Experience in writing codes, development of interface logic (API's) and advanced troubleshooting techniques
* Strong knowledge of change management processes, technology trends, action planning and management required for successful performance.
* Demonstrate strong knowledge of IT, Exploration, Mining Operations and Processing applications support.
Industry Experience:
* Minimum of 5 years of experience in database management and application support.
* Proven experience in leading data analytics and business intelligence projects.
* Must have exposure to general business functions and business process redesign for operating efficiency gains and cost reduction.
* Experience working with vendors, dealers, consultants and other contracted services.
* Directs the resolution of business problems applying analytical thought and judgment.
* Extensive experience with Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, Oracle database, Data analytics and intelligence.
Technical Skills:
* Database Systems: Proficiency in Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, MongoDB, or similar.
* Scripting & Automation: SQL, Python, PowerShell, or Bash.
* Data Tools: Power BI, Tableau, Looker, or similar BI platforms.
* Cloud Platforms: Experience with AWS RDS, Azure SQL, or Google Cloud databases.
* Software development in any programming language.
* Security & Compliance: Knowledge of data privacy laws and access control.
