Job Purpose
The Petroleum Engineering Technical Support role serves as a key technical interface between the Wells Reservoir and Facilities Management (WRFM) and operations teams, providing critical support in optimizing hydrocarbon production and asset performance. The incumbent will be responsible for defining asset potential, identifying production risks and opportunities, and shaping overall reservoir management strategies. This includes the monitoring and interpretation of production and reservoir data to identify optimization opportunities, ensure production targets are met, and contribute to the strategic development of the WRM Plan through targeted data acquisition and analytical assessments.
The role involves conducting in-depth petroleum engineering studies using tools such as material balance and pressure transient analysis to characterize reservoir behavior and drive informed decision-making. The successful candidate will analyze voidage, pressure trends, and subsurface dynamics to guide production and injection strategies. In addition, they will generate and review in-year production forecasts, assess performance against budget targets, and maintain robust technical documentation and models to support consistent, data-driven asset management.
