Job Summary:

Drill Masters Africa is seeking a proactive and results-driven Site HR Officer to serve as the on-site HR representative across multiple drilling, mining, and construction projects. The successful candidate will oversee all site-level HR operations, ensuring compliance, discipline, and alignment with company and client standards.




Job Description:

The Site HR Officer will act as the primary link between site operations and the central HR department, supporting workforce management, recruitment, welfare, and employee relations. The role requires a hands-on professional who can effectively manage people processes in remote environments, uphold Ghana Labour Law compliance, and foster a positive and productive work culture at operational sites.



Key Responsibilities:


  • Implement HR policies, systems, and standards at the site level.
  • Coordinate recruitment, onboarding, and local hires with central HR.
  • Maintain accurate employee records, contracts, and attendance registers.
  • Validate timesheets, overtime, allowances, and payroll inputs for HQ.
  • Facilitate site inductions, medical screenings, and compliance renewals.
  • Support staff welfare, engagement, and retention initiatives.
  • Advise supervisors on disciplinary actions and performance management.
  • Conduct toolbox and awareness sessions on HR policies and the code of conduct.
  • Manage leave schedules, replacements, and relieve arrangements.
  • Liaise with client HR, HSE, and site representatives on access, training, and compliance.
  • Investigate incidents or misconduct and ensure timely closure of cases.
  • Submit comprehensive monthly HR reports to headquarters.
  • Ensure full compliance with Ghana Labour Law and DMA HR governance standards.
  • Promote accountability, respect, teamwork, and ethical behavior across site teams.
  • Provide HR coverage and support across multiple project sites as required.




Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 4 years’ practical HR experience (preferably in mining, construction, or drilling environments).
  • HR certification (e.g., PHRi, SHRM, IHRMP) is an added advantage.
  • Strong knowledge of Ghana Labour Law and HR compliance practices.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Demonstrated integrity, professionalism, and ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HR information systems.
  • Willingness and ability to work independently in remote or field locations.
