The Role: What You'll Be Doing
This isn't just a job; it's an opportunity to apply your expertise and make a tangible impact. You'll be responsible for:

  • Precision Maintenance: Performing vital preventive maintenance routines, inspections, installations, and repairs strictly in accordance with OEM specifications.
  • Proactive Problem Solving: Diagnosing and troubleshooting technical and operational issues, conducting thorough root cause analysis, and implementing the best solutions to minimize downtime and cost.
  • Operational Excellence: Ensuring the effective functioning of all mechanical equipment, especially drills, through routine maintenance and rapid response to breakdowns.
  • Strategic Planning: Managing your own work schedule, coordinating with support services, and diligently addressing items on the maintenance planning schedule.
  • Quality Assurance: Consistently achieving daily and rotational quality targets, including Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF) and Mean Time To Repair (MTTR).
  • Detailed Reporting: Maintaining meticulous records of all maintenance and repair works, providing clear daily reports to your supervisor/manager.
  • Safety First: Upholding the highest standards of Health, Safety, and Environment, including strict adherence to lock out/tag out procedures and identifying potential mechanical and electrical risks. You'll actively participate in all safety meetings, contributing to a secure work environment.

 

What You Bring to the Table
We're looking for someone with a sharp mind, skilled hands, and an unwavering commitment to excellence.

 

Technical Prowess:

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication, and strong interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to confidently read and interpret complex technical documentation (instructions, test procedures, manuals).
  • A keen eye for identifying problems and reporting them with precise technical terminology for equipment parts.
  • Expertise in utilizing mechanical tools for equipment installation, maintenance, repair, and auditing.
  • A commitment to maintaining operational quality in line with organizational standards and international best practices.
  • Proficiency in using IQAN run for fault finding and Rigscan tool for performing audits.

 

Experience That Matters:

  • A minimum of 3 years of hands-on mechanical maintenance experience within the mining industry.
  • Preferably, a proven track record in repairing and maintaining drills such as DML, D65, or T45.
