Job Summary
The Head of Procurement is responsible for overseeing and managing the organization’s procurement strategy, processes, and activities to ensure timely, cost-effective, and quality acquisition of goods and services.
The role ensures compliance with company policies, supports operational efficiency, and drives value through strategic sourcing and vendor management.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with organizational goals.
Oversee sourcing, negotiation, and purchasing of goods, materials, and services.
Manage supplier relationships, including evaluation, selection, and performance monitoring.
Ensure cost optimization while maintaining quality and delivery standards.
Review and approve purchase requests, purchase orders, and contracts.
Ensure compliance with company policies, ethical standards, and regulatory requirements.
Collaborate with finance, operations, and project teams to support business needs.
Manage procurement budgets and monitor expenditure.
Identify risks in the supply chain and develop mitigation strategies.
Lead, train, and supervise procurement team members.
Prepare and present procurement reports to management.
Qualifications & Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
Professional certification (e.g., CIPS, CIPSMN) is an added advantage.
Proven experience in procurement or supply chain management, with leadership responsibility.
Strong negotiation, communication, and vendor management skills.
Good understanding of contract management and sourcing best practices.
Proficiency in procurement systems and Microsoft Office tools.
Strong analytical, organizational, and decision-making skills.
