Job Description
To invest profitably in securities on behalf of private, corporate and institutional clients and increase the firm’s wallet share of these categories of investors.
Key Responsibilities
- Buy and sell securities on behalf of private, corporate and institutional clients and proprietary trading accounts.
- Devise strategies to execute trades at prices better than the target price.
- Ensure that trades are executed according to the rules of the Ghana Stock Exchange and universal market integrity rules.
- Provide advice on the trading activities of the company to internal key stakeholders (as required).
- Develop and maintain strategic relationships with key market players including regulators, other
- brokerage firms, portfolio managers and prospective investors in order to avail the firm of the synergies from such relationships.
- Maintain professional relationships by interacting with other brokers, portfolio managers, agent banks etcetera, so as to be informed quickly of developing events that may affect the market.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Marketing or related fields; MBA (preferred but not required)
- Successful completion of the GISI, GSE certification courses, or any other courses specified by the Securities and Exchange Commission
- Must be a Registered Securities Dealer with the Ghana Stock Exchange
- Three (3) or more years proven experience in securities trading financial services
- Strong working knowledge of the capital markets – equities, fixed income, derivatives, commodities, and currency
- Ability to disseminate investment research and trade ideas
- Understanding of financial analysis and valuation
- Intuitive understanding of macroeconomic theory, monetary and fiscal policy and their respective impact on markets
