About the role
The hiring organisation is an established, technology-driven logistics company operating nationally across Ghana through nine regional branches and a mixed fleet of electric and conventional motorbikes. It has been operating since 2020, serves both individual senders and enterprise clients, and runs four connected product lines under one operation: courier as the base of the business, last-mile fulfilment for commercial partners, third-party logistics at scale for enterprise and distribution partners, and a finance line that handles cash-on-delivery remittance and merchant payouts. The warehouse and fulfilment operation is now moving from a holding area for parcels to a controlled, measured engine that feeds the whole network. The central hub receives inbound express and partner stock, sorts to nine regions, fulfils for last-mile partners, and returns what does not deliver. This role exists to own that engine and run it to a standard. The employer operates an established brand in the logistics market, and its identity will be shared with shortlisted candidates ahead of interview.
Purpose of the role
The Warehouse Manager is the single owner of everything that passes through the company's warehouse and sortation operation. The role owns the parcel and the unit of client stock from the moment it arrives to the moment it leaves, and answers for its count, its condition, its custody and its timing. You will run the central hub in Greater Accra, set the standard for the sort points across the nine regional branches, hold inventory accuracy for the stock the company keeps on behalf of partners, and feed dispatch a clean, sorted, on-time flow of parcels every operating day. Where a count does not match the system, where an inbound consignment sits unprocessed, or where a dispatch cut-off is missed, it is this role's result. Where goods move through the building accurately, safely and on time, it is this role's achievement.
What you will own
• The central fulfilment and sortation hub in Greater Accra: receiving, put-away, storage, picking, packing, sortation, dispatch handover and returns.
• The warehouse and sort-point standard across all nine regional branches, including layout, labelling, count discipline and chain-of-custody practice.
• Inventory accuracy for company parcels in transit and for client-owned and consignment stock held on behalf of fulfilment and third-party logistics partners.
• Network sortation by region, zone and route, building dispatch waves and handing over to dispatch and the rider workforce under scan.
• Returns and reverse logistics: receipt, inspection, grading, restock, return to partner, and processing of undelivered and return-to-origin parcels.
• Custody, security and shrinkage control across the building, with stricter handling of cash-on-delivery and high-value items.
• Warehouse health, safety, housekeeping and equipment, and the warehouse team across shifts.
• Warehouse data and documentation: the scanning or warehouse management records, goods-received notes, dispatch sheets, returns logs, the daily report and the warehouse scorecard.
Key responsibilities
Inbound, receiving and put-away
• Receive every inbound consignment and partner delivery against its manifest or waybill, and count it before put-away. No consignment is accepted on trust.
• Capture every shortage, excess, damage and discrepancy on the goods-received note at the point of receipt, and raise it the same day.
• Put away to a known location under a labelling and slotting discipline, so anything received can be found without a search.
Storage, slotting and space
• Own the layout of the hub and the standard for the regional sort points, with a slotting logic that puts fastmoving and time-critical stock where it can be dispatched fastest.
• Apply first-expired-first-out for dated, perishable or consignment stock, and hold any secure or temperature-controlled handling to the standard the stock or partner requires.
Sortation and dispatch handover
• Sort parcels by region, zone and route, build dispatch waves to the cut-off, and hand over to dispatch and riders under scan so custody always passes with a record.
• Meet the dispatch cut-off every operating day and clear the sort floor, so volume does not roll into the next day.
Pick, pack and fulfilment
• Run the pick, pack and dispatch workflow for last-mile partners to an order accuracy standard, with the right item, count, label and pack, and scale throughput without a loss of accuracy.
Inventory accuracy and stock control
• Own inventory record accuracy for company parcels and for client and consignment stock, and reconcile the physical count to the system as a standing discipline.
• Run daily cycle counts and periodic full counts, investigate and close every variance the same day, and never write off a difference without an explanation and a record.
• Reconcile consignment and client stock with the partner and with Finance, and stand behind the numbers the company reports to a partner.
Returns and reverse logistics
• Receive, inspect and grade every return and route it to restock, repair, partner or disposal under a clear rule, within the agreed window, with a clean, auditable record.
Custody, security and shrinkage
• Treat every parcel and unit of client stock as money held in trust, hold a chain of custody from receipt to dispatch, and apply stricter custody to cash-on-delivery parcels and high-value items.
• Drive the shrinkage, loss and damage rate down, investigate every loss to a cause, and report it immediately by call before report. Health, safety and the team
• Hold a safe, ordered, countable building, with safe manual handling, racking loaded within capacity and the correct use of any mechanical handling equipment.
• Lead the warehouse team across shifts: roster to volume, set productivity targets, hold attendance and discipline, train to a common method, and plan for peak ahead of demand.
Data, reporting and coordination
• Keep the scanning or warehouse management records an accurate reflection of the building, produce a daily report and a warehouse scorecard, and report to the Head of Operations on a fixed cadence.
• Coordinate handover with dispatch and fleet, work with Finance on consignment billing and shrinkage reconciliation, and hold partner storage and fulfilment service levels.
How your performance is measured
The role is reviewed monthly against a small, consistent set of numbers:
• Inventory record accuracy, for company parcels and for client and consignment stock.
• Order and pick accuracy, measured against lines picked.
• On-time dispatch: the cut-off is met and the sort floor is cleared every operating day.
• Dwell time from inbound receipt to outbound dispatch, held low.
• Receiving accuracy and speed, with discrepancies captured on receipt.
• Returns processing within the agreed window, with no aged backlog.
• Shrinkage, loss and damage, driven down and explained.
• Throughput per labour hour and cost per parcel handled.
• Safety incidents, near misses and the housekeeping standard.
• Partner service-level compliance.
Who we are looking for Essential
• At least five years in warehouse, fulfilment, distribution-centre or stock-control operations, with a minimum of two years supervising or managing a warehouse team or shift.
• Direct, hands-on experience running receiving, put-away, picking, packing, dispatch and returns.
• A demonstrated record of owning inventory accuracy through cycle counts, reconciliation and variance investigation, with a measurable accuracy result.
• Experience enforcing chain-of-custody, security and shrinkage controls over goods in custody.
• Experience with a warehouse management system or scanning, and strong spreadsheet ability to build and read stock, throughput and cost reports.
• Numeracy to compute accuracy rates, throughput, dwell time, capacity and cost per unit, and to decide from them.
• A first degree or higher national diploma in supply chain, logistics, operations or a related field, or equivalent demonstrated warehouse seniority.
• Willing to be based at the central hub in Greater Accra, to travel to regional sort points, and to work a shift rota across a seven-day operating week.
Desirable
• E-commerce fulfilment, courier or parcel sortation, third-party logistics or distribution-centre background.
• Experience handling client-owned or consignment stock and reporting against partner service-level agreements.
• Perishable, cold-chain or food-grade handling experience.
• Mechanical handling equipment familiarity and a current safety certification.
• Exposure to lean, 5S or continuous-improvement methods, and multi-site or hub-and-spoke network experience across Ghana.

• Operational tooling, a scanning or warehouse management system, and a direct reporting line to the Head of Operations.

• The business operates seven days a week. This role works a shift rota set with the Head of Operations, which will at times include weekend days with a weekday off in lieu, and extended hours around inbound peaks, dispatch cut-offs, stock counts and returns surges.
• Travel to regional branch sort points for standard-setting, stock audits and reviews.
• A physical role on a working warehouse floor, including time on your feet, manual handling within safe limits, and presence across receiving, sortation and dispatch. Selection process This is a rigorous, multi-stage selection.
