ASSISTANT MANAGER

Job Description

The Assistant Manager/Senior Officer – Purchase will manage procurement of sheet metal, steel, fabricated parts, and hydraulics for an automotive manufacturing environment. The role focuses on vendor management, sourcing, cost control, and ensuring timely supply chain operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage procurement of steel, sheet metal, fabricated parts, and hydraulics
• Identify, evaluate, and develop new vendors
• Handle RFQ process, negotiations, and price finalization
• Support new product development with suppliers (NDA, ZBC, APQP, PPAP)
• Negotiate contracts and manage supplier agreements
• Monitor delivery schedules and ensure timely supply
• Maintain supplier performance through scorecards (quality, cost, delivery)
• Manage ERP supplier master data (prices, vendors, quantities)
• Track stock levels and reorder requirements (ABC analysis, min-max levels)
• Coordinate with warehouse and stores for inventory control
• Prepare purchase reports and cost analysis
• Monitor Share of Business (SOB) with suppliers
• Ensure compliance with IATF supply chain standards

Requirements

• B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or Degree with PGDBA in Materials Management
• 6–10 years of procurement experience
• Experience in automotive or international manufacturing industry preferred
• Knowledge of supply chain and IATF requirements
• Strong negotiation and vendor management skills
• Experience with ERP systems
• Age limit: up to 33 years
