Role Overview
Reporting to the Commercial Data Manager, the Data Engineer will design, build, and manage scalable data pipelines and services that support strategic business units across the company. This role ensures data is integrated, reliable, and governed—fueling analytics, BI, and AI initiatives across GBfoods.
Key Responsibilities
• Data Engineering & Integration: Build and maintain pipelines across diverse data sources.
• Data Modelling & Enablement: Create business-ready structures for analytics, BI, and AI.
• Governance & Quality: Enforce standards, monitor data reliability, and ensure compliance.
• Operations & Improvement: Apply best practices in version control, testing, and monitoring.
• Future-Oriented Practices: Explore AI-assisted tools and modern data engineering approaches.
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in data engineering, warehousing, or BI roles.
• Strong proficiency in Python and SQL.
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (Azure, Snowflake, BigQuery).
• Knowledge of ETL/ELT, data warehouse/lakehouse concepts.
• Experience with orchestration tools (Apache Airflow or equivalent).
• Familiarity with Git, CI/CD, and data quality validation.
• Exposure to Spark/Databricks is a plus.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills.
