JOB PURPOSE
The Head of Finance is responsible for leading the company’s financial management, reporting, budgeting, compliance and strategic financial planning & cost control functions. The role ensures strong financial governance, effective financial support to ship repair projects executed in a complex industrial environment.
The position plays a key role in supporting operational efficiency, profitability, cash flow management and business growth while ensuring compliance with statutory and corporate requirements.



QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or related field.
Professional qualification such as ACCA, ICA, CIMA or CPA is required.
Minimum of 8–10 years’ finance experience, with at least 3 years in a senior leadership role.
Experience in ship repair, marine, engineering, manufacturing, construction or heavy industrial operations is highly preferred.
Strong understanding of project costing and industrial operational finance.
Experience managing audit, taxation and statutory compliance.
Proficiency in accounting and ERP systems as well as advanced Microsoft Excel skills.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Financial Management & Reporting
Lead the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements.
Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting with statutory compliance.
Manage the general ledger, reconciliations and internal financial controls.
Monitor financial performance and provide recommendations to management.
Oversee external audits and coordinate responses to audit findings.

Budgeting & Cost Control
Develop annual budgets, forecasts and financial plans.
Monitor project and operational costs in line with set targets during planning activities.
Analyse variances and implement corrective actions.
Support project teams with budgeting and profitability analysis.

Cash Flow & Treasury Management
Manage company’s cash flow, liquidity and banking relationships.
Optimise cash positioning and funding to support business performance.
Ensure accurate monitoring and reporting of cash flows.

Compliance & Governance
Ensure compliance with tax, labour, statutory and other regulatory requirements in Ghana.
Maintain internal controls, policies and procedures for financial governance.
Oversee procurement, financial risk management and compliance audits.

Strategic & Operational Support
Provide financial analysis and advice to support strategic decisions.
Assist in business development and investment evaluations.
Lead financial aspects of project proposals and tenders.

Team Leadership
Build and manage a high‑performing finance team.
Mentor and develop finance staff to enhance capabilities.
Ensure effective collaboration with other departments.
