HEALTH AND SAFETY OFFICER

The SHE Officer is responsible for ensuring a safe, healthy, and environmentally compliant workplace within a corrugated packaging/printing facility. The role focuses on managing risks associated with paper dust, high‑speed machinery, heat, chemicals, and overall production processes, while promoting a strong safety culture.

Job Responsibilities:
Conduct routine workplace safety inspections of corrugators, die‑cutters, slotting machines, printers, and conveyors; identify hazards such as exposed belts, sharp edges, and poor housekeeping.
Ensure machine and process safety by verifying guards, interlocks, and enforcing lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures during maintenance; monitor risks from high‑temperature systems.
Implement fire prevention and control measures, including safe storage of materials, maintenance of firefighting equipment, and coordination of fire drills and evacuation training.
Manage chemical safety for inks, adhesives, and cleaning agents by ensuring proper labeling, storage, Safety Data Sheets (SDS), and worker training.
Conduct risk assessments and Job Safety Analysis (JSA) for production activities, implementing effective control measures.
Deliver safety training and awareness programs, including PPE usage, machine safety, and emergency procedures; facilitate toolbox talks.

Requirements:
Degree or certification in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or related field.
Knowledge of industrial safety standards and regulations.
Strong risk assessment and incident investigation skills.
Good communication and training abilities.
Attention to detail and problem‑solving skills.
