About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and assertive HR Manager to oversee all human resources operations for our engineering firm. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the full employee lifecycle, aligning HR strategies with our business goals, and maintaining a productive, compliant, and safe working environment.
Because we operate in the fast-paced engineering and construction sector, this role requires a professional who understands project-based staffing, labor relations, and can successfully manage both office-based technical teams and site-based technical workers.


Key Responsibilities
Talent Acquisition & Technical Recruitment: Manage end-to-end recruitment for engineering talent, from highly specialized senior engineers and project managers to site supervisors and specialized artisans.

Workforce & Site Planning: Collaborate with Project Directors to manage project-based staffing needs, ensuring smooth deployment and demobilization of workers across various project sites.

Labor Relations & Compliance: Ensure all HR activities comply with the Nigerian Labour Act, local statutory regulations, and health and safety guidelines. Manage conflict resolution between site workers, subcontractors, and management.

Compensation & Benefits: Oversee payroll administration, statutory remittances (PAYE tax, PENCOM contributions, NSITF, and ITF), and manage the company's HMO health insurance scheme.

Performance Management: Implement Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) tailored for engineering and project deliverables, driving a culture of accountability and high performance.


Requirements

Education: Bachelor’s degree (B.Sc. / HND) in Human Resources, Business Administration, Personnel Management, or a related social science discipline.

Experience: Minimum of 6+ years of progressive HR experience, with at least 6 years in a supervisory or managerial role specifically within an engineering, construction, or manufacturing company.

Professional Affiliations: Explicit membership or certification with the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria (CIPM) is highly preferred. SHRM or HRCI certifications are an added advantage.

Legal Knowledge: Deep, working familiarity with the Nigerian Labour Act, trade union laws, and statutory compliance (FIRS, LIRS, PENCOM, NSITF).

Industry Acumen: Proven experience managing both white-collar corporate professionals (Engineers, Architects) and blue-collar site workers or casual laborers.

Availability: Must be fully comfortable and available for the regular Saturday work schedule.

Firm and objective personality, capable of enforcing company policies and site discipline.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Proficiency with modern HRIS (HR Information Systems) and payroll software.
