Role Summary
The IT Systems & AI Lead will be responsible for stabilizing, optimizing, and scaling the organization’s technology environment within a defined 60-day transformation window. This role will focus on assessing current systems, closing critical gaps, improving security and performance, and establishing a reliable, scalable IT foundation to support business operations and growth.
The ideal candidate is highly execution-driven, able to quickly diagnose issues, implement practical solutions, and build sustainable IT infrastructure, applications, and support systems.
Key Responsibilities
1. IT Assessment & Stabilization (Days 0–30)
· Conduct a comprehensive audit of existing IT infrastructure, systems, and tools
· Identify critical gaps, vulnerabilities, and inefficiencies across networks, hardware, and software
· Stabilize core systems to ensure business continuity and reduce downtime
· Document current IT architecture, processes, and key dependencies
2. Systems Optimization & Implementation (Days 30–60)
· Implement improvements across infrastructure, including networks, cloud environments, and user systems
· Standardize tools and platforms to improve efficiency and reduce fragmentation
· Deploy essential systems for collaboration, data management, and operational visibility
· Introduce automation where possible to streamline repetitive processes
3. IT Governance & Security
· Establish basic IT governance structures, policies, and documentation
· Strengthen cybersecurity measures, including access controls, data protection, and backup systems
· Ensure compliance with relevant IT standards and internal policies
· Implement monitoring systems to proactively detect and resolve issues
4. Support Systems & User Experience
· Set up efficient IT support structures, including helpdesk processes and response protocols
· Improve end-user experience by resolving recurring issues and optimizing system performance
· Train staff on new tools, systems, and best practices where necessary
5. Vendor & Stakeholder Management
· Manage relationships with external IT vendors and service providers
· Evaluate vendor performance and recommend cost-effective solutions
· Collaborate with internal teams to align IT systems with operational needs
6. Documentation & Reporting
· Maintain clear documentation of systems, processes, and changes implemented
· Provide regular progress updates on the 60-day transformation plan
· Deliver a final report outlining improvements, remaining gaps, and recommendations for scale
Requirements
1. Education
· Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
· Relevant certifications (e.g., ITIL, CompTIA, Cisco, Microsoft, or Cloud certifications) are an added advantage
2. Experience
· Minimum of 5 years’ experience in IT systems management, infrastructure, or technical operations
· Proven experience in setting up, stabilizing, or transforming IT environments
· Experience working in fast-paced or growth-stage environments is highly desirable
3. Technical Skills
· Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, and cloud platforms
· Experience with system integration, deployment, and optimization
· Understanding of cybersecurity principles and best practices
· Proficiency in IT tools, collaboration platforms, and system monitoring solutions
