Plan, oversee and execute maintenance programs for plant, machinery and infrastructure to ensure optimal equipment reliability and minimise downtime.
Develop preventive maintenance (PM) schedules and lifecycle plans for major equipment/assets; monitor performance and track maintenance KPIs.
Manage project-engineering activities: define scopes of work, prepare material/contractor requisitions, coordinate execution of modification, upgrade or installation projects.
Coordinate with operations, engineering, procurement and contractors to deliver maintenance and project works within defined budget, schedule and quality standards.
Conduct technical evaluations of equipment failures, root-cause analyses, recommend corrective actions and implement improvements.
Maintain documentation: maintenance records, job cards, inspection reports, project progress reports, cost tracking, and ensure accurate data in maintenance management systems.
Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental (HSE) standards in all maintenance and project activities.
Assist in preparing maintenance budgets, capital expenditure proposals, cost estimates for project modifications and monitor actual versus budget.
Inventory/spares management: monitor critical spare parts, ensure material availability, optimise stock levels; coordinate with stores and procurement.
Provide technical support to production/operations teams, respond to breakdowns, mobilise resources rapidly, and ensure prompt resolution of technical issues.
Typical Qualifications & Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, or related engineering discipline.
Some years of relevant experience (e.g., 3-5+ years) in maintenance engineering and project management, preferably within manufacturing, industrial or energy sector.
Strong technical knowledge of mechanical systems, equipment maintenance, project execution and maintenance management systems (CMMS/EAM).
Good planning and organisational skills, ability to prioritise work, meet deadlines and coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaboration with operations, procurement, contractors and vendors.
Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word) and ideally familiarity with maintenance/project tracking software.
Understanding of HSE practices, safe working procedures, and ability to enforce them on site.
