Job Summary:
We are seeking a Mechanical Technician to ensure the smooth, safe, and efficient operation of mechanical systems and equipment at our facility in Takoradi, Ghana. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, practical experience, and a proactive approach to maintenance and troubleshooting.
Job Description:
As a Mechanical Technician, you will be responsible for inspecting, maintaining, repairing, and improving mechanical systems that support daily operations. You will work closely with the maintenance team to uphold operational standards, minimize downtime, and ensure compliance with all safety procedures and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical systems and equipment.
- Troubleshoot faults and repair pumps, motors, valves, compressors, and related machinery.
- Support the installation and commissioning of new mechanical systems.
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs, reports, and equipment records.
- Ensure adherence to all health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies.
- Collaborate with engineers and operations teams to optimize system performance.
- Participate in equipment inspections and recommend improvements.
- Respond promptly to breakdowns and emergencies to minimize downtime.
Requirements:
- Diploma or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in industrial or plant maintenance (energy, oil & gas, or manufacturing preferred).
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- Good knowledge of safety practices and mechanical systems.
- Excellent teamwork, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, field-based environment.
