 Job Purpose 

To optimize metallurgical processes to maximize plant throughput and ensure daily and weekly gold production targets are met. 

Key Responsibilities 

  •  Manage production and also ensuring that daily and weekly KPI targets are met.
  • This includes effectively directing the metallurgy team to achieve production objectives. 
  •  Responsible for the Metallurgical Accounting standards of the mine and month end reporting of production. 
  •  Monitor process plant performance and liaising with areas of the site operation about technical consequences and forecasts 
  •  Minimize consumptions and unit costs of externally supplied reagents by understanding the cost/performance relationships of these consumables and setting operating parameters that maximize efficiency. 
  • Set metallurgical, sampling and laboratory standards, as well as processing set points. 
  •  Ensure all routine and required reporting – weekly, monthly and annual forecasts are completed accurately and promptly. 
  •  Lead simultaneous projects with competing priorities in various execution phases on a wide variety of processes to improve metallurgical performance. 
  •  Develop the risk and risk mitigation plans and activities for all work scopes and changes relating to the processing plant operations and infrastructure. 
  •  Develop a plan to ensure metallurgical equipment maintenance/ replacement is achieved in line with the Adamus expected life of mine. 
  •  Inspect plant refurbishments and plant modifications to ensure works are delivered in accordance with applicable designs, specifications, and expectations. 
  •  • Continuously identify and collate opportunities to improve cost, schedule, quality and safety outcomes to all engineering, production, refurbishment, and construction activities undertaken in accountability. 
  • Develop/Review and implement Standard operating Procedures for Metallurgical Operations. 
  •  Perform any other tasks that may be assigned by senior leadership. 

 Required Qualification & Experience 

  •  Bachelor’s degree in Metallurgy, Mineral, Material or Chemical Engineering from an accredited institution. A master’s degree would be an added advantage. 
  •  Minerals Commission certificate of competence – Processing Superintendent 
  • At least 8 - 10 years’ experience in a processing plant or similar; preferably 5 - 8 years at a middle management role. 
  •  Experience and understanding of total processing cycle. 
  •  Proven experience in collaborating with plant operations maintenance department. 
  •  Must possess a valid Ghanaian driving license. 
  •  Required Competencies 
  • Demonstrate Knowledge of Minerals and Mining (Health, Safety and Technical Regulations, 2012), L.I 2182. 
  •  Must demonstrate knowledge of plant performance and efficiency. 
  • Must have good understanding of Metallurgical Accounting with implementation of databases. 
  •  Excellent organizational skills. 
  •  Must have good organizational and administrative skills. 
  •  Demonstrable knowledge of metallurgical research processes including test work procedures, circuit and financial modelling. 
  • Ability to work very well with teams. 
  •  Ability to pay attention to details. 
  • Must possess strong and proven decision-making skills. 
  •  Must demonstrate strong interpersonal, communication and motivating skill. 
  •  Must be very reliable and honest
