Mine Technology Analyst

Role Focus 

The role is primarily responsible for the operations, maintenance, GOLDEN RIDGE LIMITED troubleshooting, and support of all unmanned vehicles including drones, bathymetric boat and fleet management systems. 

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities 

Unmanned Vehicles Support and Operations 

·Conduct high-wall mapping and deliver georeferenced 3D models to support the geotechnical team in monitoring slope stability

 ·Plan and deliver UAV missions for surveying, volumetric analysis and 3D terrain 

·Plan and conduct drone flights for surveying, mapping, and inspection tasks. 

·Ensure compliance with aviation regulations and mine safety protocols. 

·Perform pre-flight checks and calibrations for sensors and equipment. 

Ensure compliance with external regulators including GCAA and NCA

 ·Capture high-resolution aerial imagery, LiDAR scans, and thermal data. 

·Collect geospatial data for mine planning, stockpile measurement, and environmental monitoring. 

·Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of drones and unmanned vehicles. 

·Update firmware and ensure all systems are functioning optimally.

 ·Maintain inventory of spare parts and accessories 

·Collaborate with other technology teams to integrate drone data into mine planning systems.

 ·Stay updated on emerging drone technologies and mining applications. 

·Maintain flight logs and compliance documentation. 

Fleet Management Systems Support

·Provide support for infrastructure and fleet management wireless system and remote devices.

 ·Ensure availability of a two-way radio communication service in our operational areas. 

·Provide level 1 and 2 system support for incidents and provide resolution, where appropriate escalate to the supervisor. 

·Execute change for field technology services and related equipment. 

·Track related technology issues, coordinate resolution, and assist in driving issues to closure. 

·Provide support for two-way radio programming requests. 

·Configure and activate additional services on two-way radio system, fleet management system, Blast PED, Telemetry and GPS Augmentation. 

·Facilitate and if required install and configure onboard equipment requests (such as Jigsaw, Pitram, Fatigue, Collision detection etc.) 

·Manage operational technology network and computing assets e.g., jigsaw, pitram, access points etc.) 

·Work with service providers to provide timely repair and system maintenance. 

·Ensure all necessary safety procedures are followed during technology support. 

·Ensure equipment inventory and design documentation are always updated. 

Safety and Compliance 

·Comply with Zijin Golden Ridge Limited’s security and technology standards in delivery of service.

 ·Support site personnel to document and understand operating procedures when new initiatives and projects are introduced on site. 

·Participate in safety meetings, staff meetings and safety inspections. 

·Become familiar with and adheres to Zijin Golden Ridge Limited’s Health, Safety Security and Environment Policies, Standards and Procedures. 

 ·Participate in completion and resolution of all technology compliance and general control related activities for the team. 

·Consistently demonstrates safe work practices. 

·Participate in audit finding actions for the Support Team on site. 

·Comply with Zijin Golden Ridge Limited’s goals and values. 

Work Environment

This position is based at the Akyem mine site. 

Training and Experience Formal Qualification (including Professional Registrations): 

· Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or other related field. 

· Certifications in printer maintenance and desktop support (e.g., CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate). 

Additional Knowledge:

 · Has an overall understanding of the objectives and functions of the Company, business units and departments serviced by IT. 

· Familiarity with IT service management tools and practices. 

 · Minimum of 5 years’ experience in drone operations, preferably in mining, construction, or industrial environments. 

· Hands-on experience with multi-rotor and fixed-wing drones. 

·Exposure to data processing platforms (Pix4D, Drone Deploy) and GIS software. 

· Minimum of 5 years supporting digital mining solutions. 

Experience with Caterpillar’s Driver Safety System offers a significant advantage.
