As Part of Our Team You Will:

  • Handle the full lifecycle of contracts, assist the Category Management Specialist in implementing category strategies by ensuring the appropriate contracts are in place for sourcing materials and services.
  • Liaise with procurement teams to ensure that contracts meet the strategic objectives set by the category management team.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with suppliers.
  • Ensure open communication, timely resolution of any contract-related or performance issues and favorable negotiations of any changes to contract terms.
  • Ensure that all contracts and procurement activities within the sub-category comply with legal, regulatory, and company policies, including health, safety, and environmental standards and assess.
  • Solve risks associated with contracts, including potential legal liabilities and performance issues.
  • Deliver regular reports on contract status, performance, and compliance to team members, contributing to the development of regional procurement methodologies by offering insights based on contract performance.
  • Manage tender process, participate in the selection of service providers, develop contract documentation and support ongoing contract management as well as coordination of information to evaluate proposals with the user areas. 

Additional Knowledge:

  • Ability to recognize issues, problems and capitalize on opportunities. 
  • A strong understanding of the legal principles governing contracts, especially in procurement and supply chain contexts.
  • Familiarity with procurement strategies, sourcing methods, and supply chain management processes within a corporate environment.
  • Knowledge of industry-specific standards, regulations, and compliance requirements that may affect contract management (e.g., safety, environmental, or legal standards in mining).
  • Understanding of budgeting, cost control, and financial aspects of contracts, including pricing and payment structures.
  • Knowledge of how to evaluate vendor performance, handle disputes, and manage contractor relationships.
  • Experience in sourcing professional services, strategic sourcing, negotiations, and contracts administration and management for services and goods in oil & gas, mining or environmental and/or engineering industries.
  • Experience in contract management, procurement, or a similar role, preferably within a large corporate or industrial environment (mining, energy, construction, etc.).
  • Familiarity with contract management software and SAP or other enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
  • Proven experience in monitoring contractor performance, managing KPIs, and conducting contract audits or reviews.

Your Training, Skills & Experience Checklist:

Formal Qualification (including Professional Registrations):

  • Bachelor’s degree in Building Technology, and Civil Engineering (are highly recommended and preferred), Business Administration, Business Law, or related field required;
  • Additional C.P.M. or C.P.S.M. or CIPS will be an added advantage.

  • Ability to manage multiple contracts and tasks simultaneously while maintaining high levels of accuracy and compliance Oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in SAP and Ariba and MS Office Tools: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
