What you'll do:

As a Payroll Consultant for the United Kingdom, you’ll lead clients through a structured payroll implementation journey. You'll assess current processes, configure Deel Local Payroll’s payroll engine to align with local laws, and ensure a smooth transition to our platform. This role requires deep payroll understanding, technical aptitude, and strong client communication.

  • Regional Discovery & Needs Analysis: Engage clients to understand their current payroll systems, business structures, and compliance requirements in the United Kingdom. Identify gaps and opportunities to optimize payroll delivery using Deel Local Payroll.
  • Thorough Documentation: Create comprehensive documentation for requirements, configurations, and project changes. Maintain an up-to-date repository to support knowledge transfer.
  • Configure Deel Local Payroll: Translate client requirements into software configurations, customizing settings for country-specific regulations, tax laws, and benefits. Configure pay rules, earning/deduction codes, employee groups, and security roles.
  • Seamless Data Migration: Design and execute data migration strategies, cleansing and validating data for compatibility. Collaborate with client IT teams for extraction, mapping, and test migrations, overseeing the entire process.
  • Parallel Runs: Lead side-by-side payroll comparisons between the client’s legacy system and Deel Local Payroll to validate accuracy. Investigate discrepancies, align input data, and ensure outputs match expected results.
  • First Live Run Support: Guide the client through their first payroll run, resolving issues in real time and ensuring compliance.
  • Manage your client portfolio to ensure timely, high-quality payroll implementations, while consistently meeting your monthly billable hours goal.

This role ensures clients leverage Deel Local Payroll for optimized payroll operations, enhanced compliance, and a superior employee experience.

Key Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Commerce (BCom), Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (Postgraduate qualification or certification like PMP is a plus).
  • 3+ years of proven experience in payroll system implementation.
  • Strong understanding of the United Kingdom payroll laws and compliance standards.
  • Experience with various payroll systems and software.
  • Ability and interest in client-facing project management.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
