Job Description (Representative for these Roles at NMC)
Key Responsibilities
- Assess patient needs and provide direct patient care in inpatient, procedural, or specialty units (e.g. endoscopy, cath lab).
- Plan, implement, evaluate, and refine nursing care plans.
- Monitor and record vital signs; observe for patient changes or complications; intervene or raise concerns when needed.
- Assist in specialized procedures. This includes preparing patients, equipment, and instruments; maintaining sterile fields; supporting physicians/technicians during procedure. (Especially in endoscopy and cath lab roles.)
- Provide post-procedure care: monitoring recovery, observing for complications, managing pain or sedation after procedures.
- Ensure cleanliness, infection control and safety: proper handling and use of equipment; sterilization or appropriate cleaning; following hospital policy.
- Maintain documentation: patient charts, reports, procedure notes, follow up care, observations, medication administration records etc.
- Educate patients and families about care plans, procedures, home care, preventive steps.
- Participate in quality improvement, safety protocols, incident reporting, audits.
Requirements / Qualifications
- Nursing degree (Bachelor’s) or Diploma, depending on level of the role.
- Valid nursing license (e.g. DHA or relevant UAE health authority license) to practice.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certificate at minimum; some roles also need Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) depending on unit (e.g. CathLab, Endoscopy)
- Minimum years of clinical experience (often ~2 years post qualification) in relevant specialty or unit.
- Good communication skills (English required; Arabic is often advantageous).
- Ability to work in teams, under pressure, in fast-paced environments, and manage emergencies if they occur.
