TRANSPORT OFFICER

A Transport Officer manages and oversees transport operations within an organisation. The role ensures safe, efficient movement of vehicles, people and goods. 

Job description.

Fleet & Vehicle Management
Coordinate movement of company vehicles, including scheduling and route planning.
Ensure vehicles are serviced, roadworthy, insured, and legally compliant.

Maintain accurate logs for mileage, fuel use, repairs, insurance and licenses.

Driver Supervision
Recruit, train and monitor drivers.
Allocate drivers to assignments and evaluate their performance.

Monitor driver compliance with safety and company regulations.

Operations & Reporting
Prepare monthly transport reports (fuel, routes, issues).

Investigate and report any accidents or violations.

Assist in developing transport policies and procedures.

Budget & Compliance
Plan and manage the transport budget (fuel, maintenance, repairs).
Ensure compliance with traffic laws and internal policies.

Coordination
Liaise with other departments (HR, logistics, admin) and external bodies as needed.
