Welder

Job Summary

The Welder will be responsible for assembling and welding metal components according to technical drawings, specifications, and welding standards. This role involves using appropriate welding techniques and equipment to produce high-quality work, ensuring structural integrity and compliance with safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities

1. Welding & Fabrication

• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and welding symbols.
• Set up and operate welding equipment (MIG, TIG, Stick, or other required processes).
• Weld components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions.
• Cut, shape, and join metals and other materials using appropriate welding methods.

2. Quality Assurance

• Inspect welds for accuracy, defects, and adherence to specifications.
• Conduct tests on welded joints to ensure quality and durability.
• Maintain high standards of workmanship and meet project deadlines.

3. Equipment & Safety

• Maintain welding tools and equipment in good working condition.
• Adhere to all safety procedures, including proper use of PPE and ventilation systems.
• Report equipment malfunctions or safety hazards immediately.

4. Collaboration & Communication

• Work with engineers, fabricators, and other team members to complete projects.
• Follow work schedules and production targets set by supervisors.
• Communicate any issues or required adjustments during the fabrication process.

Qualifications & Skills

Education & Experience

• High school certificate or technical/vocational training in welding.
• Proven experience as a welder in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
• Certification in welding (AWS, ISO, or equivalent) is an advantage.

Technical Skills

• Proficiency in MIG, TIG, and/or Stick welding techniques.
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and welding symbols.
• Knowledge of metallurgy, welding defects, and repair techniques.
