Job summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accountant to join our Accra office. The Accountant will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing payroll and statutory tax filings, supporting logistics cost tracking, and ensuring compliance with local financial regulations. This role requires strong organizational skills, integrity, and the ability to work closely with both operations and logistics teams.




Key Responsibilities

Accounting & Financial Management

  • Maintain general ledger entries, reconcile accounts, and ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable, including supplier and customer reconciliations.
  • Support audits and liaise with external auditors, banks, and regulatory bodies.
  • Ensure compliance with Ghanaian accounting standards, tax laws, and company policies.



Payroll & Taxation

  • Prepare and process monthly payroll for all staff.
  • Calculate and remit statutory deductions (PAYE, SSNIT, Tier 2, Tier 3, etc.) on time.
  • File VAT, withholding tax, and corporate tax returns accurately within deadlines.
  • Maintain employee payroll records and respond to staff payroll queries.



Logistics & Cost Control

  • Track logistics-related expenses (transport, freight, clearing, warehousing).
  • Reconcile logistics invoices and ensure accurate cost allocation to shipments.
  • Support the logistics team with financial documentation for exports and imports.
  • Provide cost analysis reports to management for decision-making.



Administrative Support

  • Maintain proper filing of financial records and contracts.
  • Assist management with budgeting and cash flow planning.
  • Support procurement and vendor payment processes.
  • Provide timely financial data to the Group HQ and other subsidiaries.


Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (professional certification such as ACCA, ICA, or CIMA is an advantage).
  • Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in accounting, payroll, and taxation in Ghana.
  • Strong knowledge of Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) regulations and payroll systems.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Tally, QuickBooks, Sage, or ERP systems) and MS Excel.
  • Experience in logistics, import/export, or agribusiness sector is preferred.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • High level of integrity, confidentiality, and attention to detail.
