Area Sales & Distribution Officer
Location: Accra, Ghana
Salary: GHC 3000 - 6000
Job Description
We are looking for a driven and results-oriented Area Sales & Distribution Officer to manage and grow our FMCG sales and distribution network within the assigned territory. This role will focus on maximizing product availability, achieving sales targets, and ensuring strong execution of distribution strategies across retail and wholesale channels.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive sales growth and achieve volume, revenue, and distribution targets in the assigned territory.
- Manage relationships with distributors, wholesalers, and key retailers to ensure effective product availability and visibility.
- Monitor stock levels, coordinate timely replenishment, and reduce out-of-stock situations.
- Conduct regular market visits to ensure proper coverage, merchandising, and trade marketing execution.
- Train, support, and supervise distributor sales representatives to improve market penetration.
- Implement trade promotions and visibility campaigns to increase brand presence.
- Collect competitor intelligence and provide market insights to the management team.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, trade terms, and reporting standards.
Job Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree /Diploma in Business Administration, Marketing, Sales, or related field.
- 2–5 years of sales and distribution experience in the FMCG sector (food, beverages, personal care, or household products).
- Proven track record of delivering sales growth and managing distributor/retail networks.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of FMCG sales dynamics, distribution channels, and retail execution.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to analyze sales data, identify trends, and recommend corrective actions.
- Proficiency in MS Office; working knowledge of ERP/CRM systems is an advantage.
- Highly self-motivated, organized, and able to work under pressure with minimal supervision.
- Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned area.
