Assistant Hostels Executive

About the Role
Lancaster University Ghana is seeking a proactive, organized and responsible Assistant Hostels Executive to support the day-to-day management of its student accommodation facilities.
The successful candidate will help ensure efficient hostel operations, resident welfare, safety, maintenance and the delivery of quality accommodation services.

Key Responsibilities

• * Attend to residents’ requests, concerns and complaints, and support conflict resolution.
• * Assist with student orientation, welfare checks and general resident support.
• * Enforce hostel rules, curfews and visitor regulations.
• * Conduct regular inspections and scheduled night rounds.
• * Support room allocation, check-in and check-out procedures.
• * Maintain hostel inventory, key control and accurate accommodation records.
• * Supervise cleaning staff, security personnel and other service providers.
• * Follow up on maintenance issues and repair requests.
• * Respond to emergencies, accidents and security incidents.
• * Liaise with emergency services when necessary and prepare incident reports.
• * Prepare weekly operational reports and monthly work plans.
• * Take charge of hostel operations when the Hostels Executive is unavailable, within delegated authority.

Qualifications and Requirements

• * Minimum Diploma in Hospitality, Tourism or a related field.
• * A relevant bachelor’s degree will be an added advantage.
• * At least 2 years’ relevant experience in hostel, hotel, resort or similar residential operations.
• * Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• * Good written and verbal communication skills.
• * Strong report-writing and organisational skills.
• * Knowledge of basic health, safety, fire and security procedures.
• * Excellent problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills.

• * First Aid and CPR certification.
• * Experience in student accommodation or an educational environment.
