Key Responsibilities:

  1. Diagnostics and Troubleshooting:
    • Use diagnostic tools and software to identify electrical faults and issues in vehicles.
    • Inspect electrical wiring, fuses, relays, and other components for damage or wear.
    • Test vehicle systems such as lighting, ignition, and electronic control units (ECUs).
  2. Repair and Maintenance:
    • Repair or replace faulty wiring, connectors, alternators, and other electrical components.
    • Perform routine maintenance on electrical systems to prevent issues.
    • Ensure proper functioning of battery systems, charging systems, and starters.
  3. Installation of Electrical Components:
    • Install new electrical systems and components such as GPS devices, alarms, and audio systems.
    • Configure and program electronic control units (ECUs) for specific vehicle requirements.
    • Fit and calibrate sensors, lighting systems, and other accessories.
  4. Safety and Compliance:
    • Adhere to all safety standards and regulations while working on vehicles.
    • Ensure that electrical repairs and installations meet industry and manufacturer standards.
    • Use protective equipment and ensure a clean, organized workspace.
  5. Documentation and Reporting:
    • Maintain accurate records of repairs, installations, and maintenance work.
    • Provide detailed reports on diagnosed issues and completed work to supervisors or customers.
    • Recommend preventative measures or future repairs based on inspections.
  6. Customer Support:
    • Explain technical issues and solutions to customers in an understandable manner.
    • Provide cost estimates for repairs or installations when required.
    • Offer advice on maintaining the vehicle’s electrical systems.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Education and Certification:
    • Diploma or certification in Auto Electrical Engineering or a related field.
    • Valid certification or license for vehicle electrical work (depending on local regulations).
  • Experience:
    • Proven experience as an Auto Electrician or in a similar role.
    • Familiarity with diagnostic tools, electrical schematics, and automotive software.
  • Skills:
    • Strong knowledge of vehicle electrical systems and components.
    • Proficiency in reading and interpreting wiring diagrams and technical manuals.
    • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to work with precision and attention to detail.
