Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Deputy Chief Accountant to join our client's firm. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership, technical expertise, and a proven background in both corporate and personal accounting practices. This role involves overseeing financial reporting, payroll, taxation, compliance, and team leadership while upholding the firm’s reputation for exceptional service and accuracy.   



Key Responsibilities

  •  Lead and oversee the entire accounting team to ensure operational excellence.
  • Conduct regular training and development programs to keep the team’s knowledge current.
  • Review and ensure accuracy of corporate and personal income tax returns.
  • Provide expert advice to businesses and individuals on tax matters.
  • Supervise payroll tax processing at both state and federal levels.
  • Manage and maintain strong client relationships while attracting new business opportunities.
  • Mentor and support junior accountants, clerks, and bookkeepers.
  • Proactively identify and resolve potential compliance issues.
  • Ensure compliance with all state, federal, and international accounting regulations (IFRS, IAS).
  • Maintain constant communication with regulatory bodies (IRS, state agencies) and clients.
  • Ensure seamless onboarding and tax consultation for new clients.
  • Keep client files organized, accurate, and up to date.
  • Collaborate with other internal teams to achieve shared objectives.


Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
  • ICAN, ACCA, CFA is mandatory.
  • Minimum of 8  years’ accounting experience.
  • Industry Preference: FMCG sector preferably (Retail, IT, phone and lifestyle appliances sales and distribution)
  • Prior experience heading a financial reporting department in a well-established company.
  • Strong background in corporate and personal taxation.
  • In-depth knowledge of IFRS and IAS.
  • Advanced computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office and accounting databases.
  • Expertise in financial statements preparation and QuickBooks.
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and numerical skills.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with a commitment to excellent client service.
  • Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
