SUMMARY OF ROLE
Patient liaison and customer care, appointment scheduling, filing, Ushering of VIPs, patient survey, typing of medical reports, collection of data, theatre scheduling, and general enquiries.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS (KPA)
RESPONSIBILITIES PATIENT LIAISON AND CUSTOMER CARE
Optimizes patients’ satisfaction through the provision of empathetic and timeous action as necessary
Serves patients by greeting and assisting as required,
Welcomes patients and visitors in person or on the telephone and answers or refers inquiries.
Comforts patients by anticipating patients’ anxieties, answering patients’ questions, and maintaining the reception area.
ADMINISTRATION AND SCHEDULING
Schedules patient appointments and maintains records
Optimizes provider time, and scheduling appointments in person or by telephone
Keeps patient appointments on schedule by notifying provider of patient’s arrival, reviewing service delivery compared to schedule, and reminding providers of service delays.
Maintains patient accounts by obtaining, recording, and updating personal information.
Types medical reports for doctors.

Constantly be aware of work process problems or bottlenecks that prevent the achievement of goals, objectives, and targets
Take appropriate action in improving any process that will allow the improvement to quality service and productivity
Actively participate in performance improvement and continuous quality improvement activities.
LIMITS OF AUTHORITY
Operate within determined limits of authority in the achievement of the strategic plan and any other agreed goals and objectives as approved by the CEO
SKILLS AND COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS
Familiarity with telephone systems
Computer literate. Previous experience with Microsoft Office software preferred
Excellent communication skills, telephonic, written and verbal in English
Scheduling experience
Patient-centred and customer service orientated.
Good time management, and organizational skills and ability to multi-task
Pays attention to detail
Professionalism with a focus on quality
Flexibility
QUALIFICATION
A minimum of an HND or equivalent in Management /Social Science or Humanities discipline is required for this role.
An additional relevant qualification would be an advantage
Hospital experience is an added advantage
