About This Role

This role will be responsible for developing, delivering and monitoring safety training programs to ensure employees understand job‑specific and general safety requirements. The role also serves as Document Controller, managing HSE documentation, maintaining the document control system, compiling operational manuals and ensuring compliance with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems.


Key Responsibilities

  • Design, deliver and evaluate HSE induction, refresher, and specialized training programs.
  • Develop and maintain training materials, records, and competency registers.
  • Coordinate internal and external training activities and awareness campaigns.
  • Familiarize with and strictly adhere to Asante Gold Bibiani Ltd Health and Safety standards and additionally specify measures in supporting these standards and practices.
  • Control and maintain all HSE documentation, ensuring proper version control and accessibility.
  • Support audits, inspections, and ISO 14001 & ISO 45001 compliance requirements.
  • Collaborate with HSE teams to identify training needs and improve safety performance.
  • Ensure employees and contractors are adequately trained to work safely and promote continuous improvement.
  • Actively participate and promote continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Perform any other duties that may be assigned from time to time.


Education, Work Experience & Key Competencies

  • Bachelor’s degree in Health, Safety and Environment (HSE), Occupational Health & Safety, Education, or a related field.
  • NEBOSH International General Certificate (desirable).
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in HSE training and document control within mining or industrial operations.
  • Minerals Commission Certificate of Competency is required.
  • Possession of Valid Class B Ghanaian Driver’s License as a minimum.
  • Strong knowledge of training methodologies, adult learning principles, and HSE legislation.
  • Proficiency in document management systems and record-keeping.
  • Ability to assess training effectiveness and competency compliance.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Sound understanding of Safety Management Systems and their practical implementation.
  • Detail-oriented, organized and methodical.
  • Proactive, reliable, and able to work independently and in teams.
  • High ethical standards, transparent and committed to safety.
