Laboratory Technician

Job Summary
A reputable construction company is seeking a qualified and experienced Laboratory Technician to support quality control and materials testing activities on road construction projects.
The successful candidate will conduct laboratory and field tests on construction materials to ensure compliance with project specifications, engineering standards, and quality assurance requirements.

Key Responsibilities
• Conduct laboratory and field tests on soil, aggregates, concrete, and other construction materials.
• Perform soil classification, moisture content, and compaction tests.
• Carry out concrete sampling and testing, including slump and compressive strength tests where required.
• Conduct aggregate grading and other relevant materials tests.
• Ensure that testing procedures comply with approved standards and project specifications.
• Maintain accurate records of test results and prepare laboratory reports.
• Inspect and maintain laboratory equipment.
• Collect and label samples correctly to ensure traceability.
• Report test results and quality concerns to the site engineer or quality control manager.
• Support quality assurance and quality control activities throughout project execution.

Requirements and Qualifications
• HND in Civil Engineering or a relevant qualification.
• A minimum of 10 years of relevant working experience.
• Proven experience in materials testing for road construction projects.
• Knowledge of soil, aggregate, and concrete testing procedures.
• Familiarity with laboratory equipment and quality control documentation.
• Strong analytical, reporting, and organizational skills.
• High attention to detail and commitment to accurate testing.
