About the Role:
Nyaho Medical Centre is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Legal Officer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive legal support to the organization, ensuring regulatory compliance, mitigating legal risks, and protecting the hospital's interests. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in corporate and commercial law, with the ability to handle complex legal matters within the healthcare sector.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contract Management: Draft, review, and negotiate a wide variety of contracts, including vendor agreements, service contracts, employment agreements, and partnership agreements.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure the hospital's operations comply with all relevant local laws, healthcare regulations, data protection acts, and industry standards.
  • Legal Advisory: Provide timely and accurate legal advice to management and various departments on a broad range of issues, including medical law, labor law, and corporate governance.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential legal risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
  • Dispute Resolution: Manage and resolve legal disputes, litigation, and claims, liaising with external legal counsel when necessary.
  • Corporate Secretarial Duties: Maintain statutory records, prepare board resolutions, and ensure compliance with corporate governance requirements.
  • Policy Development: Assist in the development, review, and implementation of internal policies and procedures.
  • Legal Research: Conduct thorough legal research and keep abreast of changes in legislation that may affect the healthcare industry.

Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Education: LLB degree from a recognized university and a qualifying certificate from the Ghana School of Law (or equivalent).
  • Experience: Proven experience (typically 3-5 years) in corporate/commercial law, preferably with exposure to the healthcare or service industry.
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of Ghanaian corporate law, contract law, labor law, and healthcare regulations.
  • Skills: Excellent drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills. Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Attributes: High level of professional integrity, confidentiality, and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
