OCC Manager

WE ARE HIRING

To manage and oversee the Operations Control Centre (OCC) and Flight Dispatch functions to ensure the safe and cost-effective conduct of all flight operations in accordance with GCAA regulations, the Air Operator Certificate (AOC), company policies and the Operations Manual.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the Flight Dispatch Manual that spells out the operational policies and standards for flight dispatchers for all airline and aircraft types in company operations.
• Lead and manage the OCC team to achieve operational integrity and safety targets through effective planning, communication and sound economic decision-making processes are employed.
• Flight Planning, Flight Watch, Weather Briefing, and ensuring communications in all phases of the flight.
• Manage and review training programs of Operations Control and Flight Dispatch staff in accordance with company policies and industry best practices, new technologies and advancements in civil aviation regulations.
• Ensuring that company flights are safely and efficiently planned, cleared, and monitored in accordance with established standards and regulations.
• Manage OCC and network operational performance to ensure that cost efficient and sustained disruption recovery responses are implemented.
• Develop and implementation of standard operating procedures to ensure safe operations and compliance with the CARs.
• Preparing the operating and capital expenditure budgets relative to the OCC.
• Ensure continuous flight-following is being carried out by concerned Flight Dispatch Centre to provide the best possible operational plan of any deviation or diversion from the normal operational plan.
• Maintaining a balanced stock of all Navigational Flight Plans and weather data required for the successful conduct of flights, closely monitoring and consulting with Navigation, Performance and Fuel Supervisor on the supply.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree in Aviation Management, Air Transport Management or a related field.
• Valid Flight Operations Officer (FOO)/Flight Dispatcher License or an equivalent aviation operation qualification recognized by the GCAA.
• Minimum of five (5) years' experience in airline Operations Control and Flight Dispatch, with experience in a supervisory or management role including at least two (2) years in a supervisory or managerial role.
• Thorough knowledge of GCAA regulations, Operational Control procedures, Flight Planning, Dispatch requirements and Safety Management Systems (SMS).
