Job Summary
The Procurement Officer – Wa is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing procurement activities to ensure the timely acquisition of goods, services, and materials required for company operations. The role oversees sourcing, supplier management, inventory coordination, invoice verification, contract administration, and procurement reporting while ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
• Manage the end-to-end procurement process from requisition to delivery.
• Prepare, review, and issue Purchase Orders (POs) in accordance with approved requisitions.
• Ensure all procurement documentation is complete, accurate, and properly authorized.
• Coordinate with internal departments to understand procurement requirements and timelines.
• Source and evaluate suppliers to achieve quality, cost, and delivery objectives.
• Develop, review, and manage supplier contracts and agreements.
• Maintain strong supplier relationships and negotiate favorable terms.
• Verify Goods Received Notes (GRNs) against purchase orders and delivery records.
• Coordinate with warehouse personnel to ensure accurate inventory records.
• Review supplier invoices and ensure consistency with approved documentation.
• Liaise with Finance to facilitate timely payment processing.
• Maintain accurate supplier databases, pricing records, and procurement documentation.
• Prepare procurement reports and support audit activities.
• Ensure procured goods meet required quality, safety, and company standards.
Requirements
Education
• Bachelor's Degree or HND in Procurement and Supply Chain Management or a related field.
Experience
• Minimum of 2–3 years of relevant experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management.
• Experience within agriculture, manufacturing, FMCG, or a related operational environment is an advantage.
• Proven experience in supplier management, contract administration, inventory control, and procurement reporting.
Knowledge & Skills
• Strong understanding of procurement processes and contract management.
• Knowledge of inventory management and stock control practices.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
• Experience with ERP systems (Factura or similar) is an advantage.
• Strong analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• High attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.
Other Requirements
• Must reside in or be willing to relocate to Wa.
• Ability to travel periodically to operational sites and supplier locations.
• Possession of a valid driver's license is an added advantage.
