Hill International is seeking a Project Manager - Healthcare in Phoenix, Arizona

This position effectively manages all new construction and major renovation projects for one or more facilities, likely to be $100-$250 million or more in magnitude (single project or as a program) and supervises other project management staff accomplishing other, ongoing projects.

Works closely with hospital leadership teams to evaluate and prioritize projects, directs the performance of design and construction teams, tracks project costs and schedules to achieve project budget and timelines, and mitigates risk through assessment of performed work assuring compliance with quality, scope, safety and regulatory requirements.  Coordinates and assigns system and facility resources to assure achievement of system priorities and facility project goals. Also provides general support to the system for the development and implementation of system wide means, methods, practices, and systems for Design and Construction.

Responsibilities

  • Reviews, arranges, and approves system and facility resources needed to achieve project goals including other project management resources, information technology, furniture, equipment resources. 
  • Prepares and evaluates project cost estimates, budgets, schedules and various other project management information for all major projects. Reviews bid packages and design documents and specifications to assure scope and quality are accurately defined. 
  • Evaluates and manages pay applications and change orders during construction phase. Ensures project documents and archival process is accomplished. 
  • Mitigates project risk by anticipating and identifying potential project issues including site logistics, disruptions to operations, existing conditions and maintenance concerns. Ensures appropriate level of independent testing and inspection of materials and conditions. 
  • Participates in contractor safety meetings and education. Conducts periodic site walks to identify and minimize risk factors. Ensures project documents and work performance comply with all known regulatory requirements. Coordinates site visits and inspections by governmental agencies. 
  • Prepares action plans to correct all deficiencies. Develops, conducts training, and helps implement means, methods, and practices to be used system wide. 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Construction, and/or Engineering required 
  • Master’s degree preferred.  
  • Ten years of progressive project management experience preferably in healthcare related construction. 
  • Must have proven experience directing and overseeing multiple resources and large-scale projects.
  • This can be a remote position, with travel to the client site in Arizona when needed.
