JOB SUMMARY
A reputable financial company is looking for an experienced Recovery Officer to join the team. The ideal candidate must be detail-oriented, disciplined and hands-on, with expertise in negotiation.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
✓ Contact clients and debtors via phone, email, or in-person to recover outstanding debts
✓ Negotiate repayment terms and follow up on agreed payment plans
✓ Maintain accurate records of communications and payment arrangements
✓ Monitor debtor accounts and escalate unresolved cases to the legal team where necessary
✓ Investigate and verify debtor information to assess possibility of recovery before making legal recommendations
✓ Prepare weekly and monthly recovery reports for management
✓ Comply with all legal requirements, company policies, and ethical standards in the recovery process
✓ Build strong relationships with clients and ensure a professional approach in all engagements
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
✓ Minimum of a Higher National Diploma (HND) or Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
✓ 2+ years of experience in accounting and finance or working in a recovery department with a microfinance company.
✓ Strong communication and negotiation skills.
✓ Good analytical and problem-solving abilities.
✓ Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace.
