RISK AND COMPLIANCE MANAGER

Job Summary:

The Risk and Compliance Manager ensures that an organization operates within legal, regulatory, and ethical boundaries while proactively identifying and mitigating risks. This role is critical in safeguarding the company’s reputation, assets, and operational integrity. The manager develops and oversees compliance programs, conducts risk assessments, and collaborates with internal teams to embed a culture of accountability and transparency

RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Develop and implement the a risk management framework, policies, and procedures.
* Identify, assess, monitor, and mitigate financial, operational, credit, market, and reputational risks.
* Conduct regular risk assessments on loan portfolios, client segments, and branch operations.
* Ensure appropriate risk limits and controls are in place and adhered to across all operations.
* Ensure full compliance with the Bank of Ghana (or relevant regulatory authority) microfinance regulations, prudential guidelines, and reporting requirements.
* Prepare and submit timely regulatory returns and compliance reports.
* Build risk and compliance awareness among staff through regular training and sensitization programs.
* Implement and oversee the AML/CFT framework in line with regulatory standards.
* Conduct Know Your Customer (KYC) checks and transaction monitoring to detect suspicious activities.
* Provide periodic risk and compliance reports to the Board
* Recommend policy and procedural improvements to strengthen risk management and compliance.

QUALIFICATION:
1. Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Law, Risk Management, or related field (Master's degree or professional certification is an advantage).
2. Minimum of 5-7 years' experience in risk management, compliance, or regulatory functions, preferably in microfinance, banking, or financial services.
3. Strong knowledge of Bank of Ghana regulations, AML/CFT laws, microfinance guidelines, and financial risk frameworks.
